What is Family Immigration?

Family-based immigration is one the principal ways in which people immigrate to the United States. Certain family members of US citizens or Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) may be eligible for a visa that provides permanent residency, or Green Card, and a potential path to citizenship. Visa are always available for immediate family members, including spouses, minor children, and parents of US citizens and LPRs. Other family members of US citizens and LPRs may also qualify for a family-based immigration visa under the secondary family preference category. These family members, however, may have to wait for a visa to become available. Family members in this family preference category can include married/unmarried adult children and siblings. To find out if you or your family members are eligible for family-based immigration, reach out to Shoreline Immigration.
